According to many reports, it has been stated that Harold Henthorn is responsible for the death of his former wife. His previous spouse, Sandra Lyn Henthorn passed away in 1995 while the couple was driving on the road. The jeep went over her body while she crawled to pick up the nut to make the tire stiff. Sandra was only 35 years back then.
Consequently, Harold Henthorn killed his second wife Toni Henthorn. He killed her on their twelfth wedding anniversary. The incident took place when they went hiking in the Rocky mountain. Toni fell 128 feet apart from the cliff.
However, there was not enough evidence that proved him guilty of murder for his first wife.
In the trial of his second wife’s murder, the 10th Circuit Court determined that the murder was a pre-planned design rather than a mere accident. On further investigation, the court observed that Toni Henthorn suffered from serious brain hemorrhaging, a fractured neck, blunt trauma to the chest and abdomen. But, there were no signs of revival associated with CPR. The autopsy result did not match with Henthorn’s statement where he mentioned that he tried to revive his wife by CPR.
As a result, Harold Henthorn was unable to win the trial. Further, he was all sentenced to life imprisonment. he was finally arrested in November.
